It was the very first day of Spring and she had gone to the market alone this morning for the first time. It was intentional and truthfully it was high time she take back the life that she had left. The adventure was well worth it and she returned home as briskly as she could with a basket full of wares that she'd purchase or traded for. Merrin had left as early as she possibly could, hoping to return before Luciel was awake or could truly get his day started.
When she reached the mouth of her cave home, she pranced over to the area that had become their kitchen and storage space. She attempted to whisk herself into a corner before her mate could see what she'd managed to bring home with her. Merrin busied herself with preparing something special she'd gotten for her beloved Captain, glancing over her shoulder every once in a while with an excited smile.
Finally, she'd managed to set it all up and then she turned around, keeping herself in a position to hopefully block what she had from sight until she was able to present it to him. “I got you a little something to show my appreciation for you, love." She announced, dancing on her paws as giddy as she had been in their earlier days when Luciel had formed a closer friendship. It was the memories of the happiest days of her life that kept the spark of youth glimmering in her lavender eyes.
