Profile of Declan

Declan mirrors his father in appearance mostly, stealing from the darker earthen tones of his coat and deep, fiery amber of his eyes. He plucked an earthy russet from his mother and it was about there were the similarities ended. He's of gigantic size, compared to his parents, perhaps he and his brother inherited their stature from long lost grandparents he never got to know.

Insecure: As ruggedly handsome as he is, Declan is neither vain nor confident. He does not view his appearance as anything special and sometimes even believes himself to be ugly. He has a very hard time receiving compliments from others to a point of it being downright embarrassing. A lifetime of being put down by his father (and occasionally his other siblings) has led him to believe he is less than.

Jealous: He is a jealous creature. If someone strikes his fancy he can become possessive and controlling quite easily.

Charming: On the other side of his insecurity lies a charming beast. He can give a compliment much more easily than he can take one and often has what one might consider a 'silver tongue' of sorts. If he's in trouble he'll try to use smooth talk to get himself out before resorting to physical violence.

Codependent: Within a family so large and dysfunctional, it is no wonder Declan has found himself with a bit of a needy nature. He clings to his brother, Killian, as if he were his lifeline at times. Sometimes this dependency will shift from his sibling to a romantic interest but none of those have lasted long enough to become anything and he knows he can always fall back on his brother.

Perceptive: Declan is observant, if anything. He is not a talkative man most of the time and instead spends his time paying attention to his surroundings and company. He can pick upon on things like subtle mood changes.

Declan was born to Lachlan O'Conaill and Amelia Detherage alongside his brother, Killian. He was raised (hardly) to believe all the wrong things but somewhere deep inside he chafes against his family's 'values'.

When he turned one his father put him out on the streets to run drugs for his business and basically fend for himself and he's been doing that ever since. With the new borders splitting Saora and Rionnach he finds himself being put in more danger than usual. With tensions in the family running high, its only a matter of time before things begin to break...
