Duty and responsibility were always something the irresponsible youth avoided. He'd rather spend the days fooling around with his best friend and enjoying life than growing up. Caught up in a battle he pursued a retreating Imperial and the soldier slipped, striking their head, dying almost instantly. Reuben fled the battlefield, abandoning his post and deserting from the army.
