Personality
quiet, stubborn, jaded. a weariness rests somewhere deep in the depths of his gaze, hidden behind a sea of stoicism and unrest. extremely observant. keen. intelligent. loathes his position, but never questions it, and never stalls from an order. it's rotten work, but someone has to do it. a faithful dog to cause and circumstance. vastly disconnected from emotion; borderline sociopathic (a defense mechanism, for he has seen and committed atrocities he prefers not speak of). unerringly loyal. speaks rarely enough that some think him mute. rejects affection and unnecessary physical touch. disciplined and reserved. good at what he does, and never acts with emotion. he is a machine, well-oiled and prepared for any task he is put to (no matter how ugly). resentful—for the mere necessity of his duty—but has accepted his station.

History
summer 1705:
abandoned as a pup by a traveling party of outsiders. he was taken under the wing of some aberdeen townsfolk, and became a highlander in every sense of the word—except for his blood.

summer 1705—summer 1706:
grew up rugged and hard and wild. was always a quiet boy, and made alliances more than he did friendships. the unrest after queen aileen's exile contributes to his hard upbringing, and leads to his initial involvement in the jacobian army.

fall 1706—summer 1709:
apprentices under a jacobite militia, and his wildness is tamed for control, calculation, and skill. rumors of jacob's return become more and more prominent, and their cause has distinct purpose.

fall 1709:
any remaining pretenses are shed, and abraham answers the call to gather at inverness—a steadfast and determined soldier with a very specific set of skills. some call him executioner, some call him assassin, but all call him death.
