A glance and she looks like any daughter from a respectable family. Athena bears the grace of her mother's lineage. She dons an elegant and sleek appearance, exuding the refinement expected of her. Yet, there's an unmistakable hint of her father's strength in the way she carries herself.

Her build is a harmonious blend of her parents' traits, a perfect balance between grace and power. Standing tall, she commands attention, her well-built frame a testament to her rigorous training and dedication. Her fur is akin to fields of golden barley swaying gently in the breeze. Each strand glimmering in the sunlight, giving her an almost ethereal appearance.

Athena's eyes are a light brown, nearly pale yellow like her father's. Black kohl naturally lines her eyes, enhancing their color, and in the sunlight, they seem to glow, as if filled with gold.

Though she may look soft, looks deceived. There's evidence of battles fought and scars earned peeking from beneath her fur.

Athena embodies the core values of justice, truth, and wisdom, which guide her unwavering commitment to doing what she believes is right. She abides by a strict moral code that serves as her compass in life. While she may, on rare occasions, bend her principles for the greater good, she does so with great reluctance, as she holds the well-being of the innocent as the highest priority. Anything that causes harm, directly or indirectly to innocents, is considered morally unjust in her eyes.

The pursuit of justice runs through her veins, a legacy inherited from her father. That sense of right and wrong is buried in her roots, taught from childhood. Honesty is a hallmark of her character; she finds it difficult to tell a lie, nor does she care to. Her word is her bond, and she does not make promises lightly.

While oftentimes not outright compassionate, she cares about others. Athena harbors no ill will unless it is justly deserved. She endeavors to believe in the innate goodness of others, but her past experiences have made it challenging for her to trust. Yet, once she finds it within herself, she clings to it steadfastly, willing to go to great lengths for those she loves, even if it means sacrificing her own well-being.

She grapples with the notion of burdening others and tends to shoulder her responsibilities, even if it takes a toll on her own well-being. Encouraging herself to hold it all together, she often emulates her father's resolute leadership, determined to remain strong despite the internal struggle. - ☼ -

Athena was born in the picturesque province of Castle Stewert. The Va'len's are a proud family, but not considerably wealthy. What assets they have were passed down the generations with care. They are a military family, having served as military and protectors of their betters for generations. Her mother died when she was very young. Seeking to give his children a mother figure, her father remarried after a few years. Unfortunately, that didn't last either, and her stepmother tragically passed away while giving birth to Matilda, Athena's half-sister. Her father was a Colonel in the Imperial Army and so he travelled for work. His work could be dangerous, but it still came as a shock to hear of his passing. It's said he died bravely in the line of duty, combatting a particularly nasty criminal ring.

It left them with the heavy burden of caring for their sister and maintaining the household. Athena had the help of her brother for a time, but then Rowan mysteriously vanished, leaving them behind. Although she aches with the desire to search for him, Athena knows that her primary duty is to look after Matilda. With her father gone and Rowan missing, Athena bore the weight of responsibilities that far exceeded her; The dutiful eldest daughter to the Va'len family and her sister's only guardian.

In the shadow of her father's legacy, Athena chose to follow his path and joined the Imperial Army. It was not the life her father envisioned for her, he would've preferred she lived a comfortable life, perhaps marriage, but it was the only choice she felt confident in making. The army provided her with the means to provide for Matilda and ensure her sister's education at the College of Eòlas.

Now as tensions arise between opposing factions; The road ahead is uncertain. Even so, she's prepared to fight, determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead and carve a path forward for her dear sister.
