Profile of Aphelion

He’s luminous as the moon itself. Born with albinism, Aphelion is completely devoid of color. He appears to be mostly white, but there is a distinctly pinkish hue around his ears, nose, and paws—wherever his pelt is thinnest. His eyes are a desaturated blue that fades ever so slightly into pink. An evening sky surrendering to the first hint of sunset.

As a pup, Aphelion is chubby. There is no other word for it. But his huge, bumbling paws tell of the impressive stature he will one day grow into.

Aphelion is the anchor to which his beloved brother is tethered. He prefers safety over adventure. He’s intelligent and loves to learn, but would rather do so in the comfort of his den—or, at the very least, within a safe distance of it. Stubborn as he is, he gets pulled into his brother’s shenanigans more often than not. He satisfies his need for comfort and control in other areas of his life. What he eats, when he sleeps, and how often he bathes. He’s quite particular about these things, and won’t hesitate to voice his displeasure should someone disrupt his routine.

In fact, there are very few things Aphelion would hesitate to voice. He’s unflinchingly honest, and doesn’t see the point in his brother’s excessive use of sarcasm. But he loves him anyway, and would do anything to keep him safe.
