As a yearling, Keres hasn't found much change from the time before aside from the fading of the scars that used to dig deep into the bridge of her nose. Skin clung against rib, but the ache subsided the longer she went without. Was that out of need or simple use? Well, whatever.

The year had not been kind as the Etherea family was torn asunder by the tumultuous ties of the past and the looming war the north and south abided to. Regardless of her stance on whomever's hat loomed largest, she had been forced into participating while attempting to locate Merrin's children, totaling her being placed in Jacobian jail temporarily as a prisoner of war and no winnings to balance it out.

Once released, Keres burdened herself with steering clear of Merrin Etherea as she settled into her new hidden life. She had failed her and didn't deserve the satisfaction of seeing that woman smile in her direction. It'd be better if she was considered dead.

Stumbling upon the Playground, she threw her all into the matches that pitted her life against others. No care for her wellbeing, no restraint in her domination against her opponents, Keres became known as 'Nemesis'. Nothing else mattered.

As Keres thrived, she was forced into being useful to her only living family by learning how to be a thoughtless guard dog that jumped, sat and attacked on command. She, according to him, was not suited for a life in the sun or in an honorable profession and deserved only what the rats could provide, what he could provide.

In a drunken stupor from losing a large investment, her father went away on 'business', leaving her to fend for herself trapped within the underground. When he finally did return home, he was not welcomed warmly. Unable to tell ally from enemy, Keres attacked him for trespassing which ultimately led to his death.

Keres fled.

Though intending to leave the mainland, she was struck with the fae sickness in Yorkshire and was found by Merrin Etherea with whom she remained with.
