For those that do not mind swimming are able to find a spot where the rivers flow more peacefully and the gnarled roots of the mangroves grow. After fording several rivers, the weary traveler is rewarded with a delightful maze of trees, all thickly wooded in a labyrinth of moss, lichen, and branches. A temperate mangrove forest, this is no swamp. However, it is a wetland and there are many frogs. The sound of their croaks can be heard at night and, come dusk, the lightning bugs twirl and dance within the sky.
